Operation of water treatment plants

Waterstromen operates industrial water treatment plants at various locations. Waterstromen owns the installation and purifies the water for the company on basis of long-term agreements. Waterstromen takes over installations and invests in adjusting installations or build new ones. Hereby Waterstromen guarantees the extract of water. in consultation with the company, we continuously look for optimizations and/or adjustments in connection with changes in the water in order to achieve a win-win solution.

Processing (organic) residual flows

Processing oil / water / sludge flows

At our location in Duiven, oil / water / sludge streams are processed that come from sand traps and oil / water separators from car washes, gas stations and similar institutions. The water fraction is further refined in the adjacent Nieuwgraaf sewage treatment plant and the sand / sludge and oil fraction is transported to specialist companies that upgrade the fractions for reuse. BIR Lichtenvoorde
BIR Lichtenvoorde

BIR BV (Biological Industrial Waste Processing) is a collaboration between Waterstromen BV from Lochem and GMB BioEnergie from Zutphen. In the installation, at location Lichtenvoorde, industrial organic residual flows are converted into biogas. The biogas is converted into green energy and heat. In addition to utilization in the biological processes of IWZI Lichtenvoorde, the heat is also used for heating an a.o. swimming

The purpose of this collaboration is to process the Oil / Water / Sludge mixtures collected by Remondis Dusseldorp within the collection area in a responsible manner.
